Support » Plugins » [Plugin: Google Analytics for WordPress] Problem after update

  • Hello,

I have successfuly upgraded to WordPress 2.6 today and my next step was to update my Google Analytics for WordPress plugin to version 2.5.6. After that I went to the Google Analytics screen in the WP admin panel in order to check the settings but it won’t accept my UA ID. I write the ID correctly and click update settings but I always get the same message, “Google Analytics is not active. You must enter your UA String for it to work.”

It was working perfectly (so I’m sure I use the right UA ID) until today that I updated to version 2.5.6.

    Any help would be appreciated.

  • why not paste the code into your theme manually?

I’ll probably do that, but I was thinking that the plugin offers something extra…

Which is the best place to insert the code to my theme in order to work for all pages? footer.php right before </body> ? Or maybe in header.php?

Apparently it was a bug of the plugin version 2.5.6. It’s now solved as the new 2.6.2 version came out.

you put it right before </bod> tag unless you also use woopra for real time tracking in which case you will want to put the woopra code inbetween the google and the body tag

Anonymous: please tell me what your UA id is? It should accept all of them…
