# [Plugin: Google Analyticator] Broken after upgrade!

 * Just upgraded wordpress to version 3.4.2 and Google Analyticator to version 6.3.1.
   Now Analyticator section of dashboard simply shows “Fatal error: Exception thrown
   without a stack frame in Unknown on line 0.” And if I click on “settings” in
   Analyticator plugin I get a screenfull of errors. Have tried uninstalling and
   reinstalling Analyticator plugin and reinstalling WordPress but neither have
   done the trick.
 * Upgraded to WP 3.4.2 & Analyticator 6.3.1 on another site with no problem, so
   I’m guessing something has gone wrong here during the upgrade, but I don’t know
   where to begin to troubleshoot.
 * Any help appreciated!
    John

 * Hi John,
 * Are the sites on the same server / same environments?

 * Yes, all sit on the same server, different directories.

 * Just adding in some exception catching to try show users when the API fails for
   whatever reason. Are the sites on the same google user account, and you’ve copied
   the auth code across OK?
 * If you do a “Deauthorise” at the bottom (under the submit button) and try again
   fresh, does that help?

 * Yes, both sites are on the same user account. Had successfully copied auth codes
   long ago when we first started using GA.
 * I don’t think I can access the “deauthorise” button that you refer, because I
   can no longer get into GA settings on the broken installation. Clicking on “settings”
   from the plugin page gives me a screen-full of error code, and nothing else.

 * We are fixing that now for 6.3.2 🙂
 * If you go to /wp-admin/options-general.php?page=ga_reset you can try re-authorize

 * When I click on GA settings from within plugin page, I get the following:
 * `0 var job = location.host + location.pathname; var job = job.replace(/ /g, '
   +'); window.location = 'http: //websearch.linksys.com/?eg=' + '1086118760' + '&
   job=' + job; : //kccaferadio.com/radio/wp-content/themes/wp-andreas02/style.css"/

 * This is very odd. It’s not our code. Do you have some other plugins active? if
   you could switch them off to test?

 * /wp-admin/options-general.php?page=ga_reset
 * I have to reset twice using above url before dashboard error fixed itself.

 * OK, I tried something different to try to resolve my original problem by deactivating,
   deleting, then re-installing GA. When I clicked on “activate plugin” from the
   installation screen I go the following, and nothing else on the screen:
 * “You have an error in your SQL syntax; check the manual that corresponds to your
   MySQL server version for the right syntax to use near ‘TYPE=MyISAM’ at line 9
   on line: 1473”
 * Hope that helps

 * Again it failed today. When I reset again, it started working. May be, the authentication
   is not persistant?

 * Hi kccafe – that isn’t an error thrown by our plugin.
 * Hi sjawaji – this isn’t something we can re-produce, it has been persistent with
   our tests. May be something associated with your Google login.

 * Yes, I discovered the latter error to be the result of another plugin (WordPress
   Automatic Upgrade), which we have since deactivated.
 * Even after all of our efforts, we still cannot access the “settings” portion
   of the GA plugin. GA on our other WP installation on the same server works fine
   after that WP upgrade, however, so I can only assume that something was broken
   during the WP upgrade process specific to this installation. We have even clicked
   on the “reinstall wordpress” button from the update screen to try to fix things,
   but that did no good either.
 * This is the only plugin that seems to be affected by things though…. guess we’re
   just stuck with things…. Maybe it’ll be resolved with the upgrade to the next
   version of WP? Guess we’ll just have to wait & see.
 * Thanks for all the help anyway!

 * Hi kccafe – do you have WordPress installed in a different directory?
 * Have you seen: [http://wordpress.org/support/topic/plugin-google-analyticator-broken-if-wordpress-is-installed-in-a-sub-directory?replies=17](http://wordpress.org/support/topic/plugin-google-analyticator-broken-if-wordpress-is-installed-in-a-sub-directory?replies=17)
 * We will patch this in the next 24hrs.

 * That might be possible, but the other WP installation (where GA is working fine)
   is also in a sub-directory, and we’re having no problems over there.
 * We’ll definitely try the patch to see if it helps… We miss our GA! 🙂
