Is this plugin GDPR compliant? I’d like to use it to display GDPR relevant material (like cookie consent, modified opt-in) only to people from Europe. But I am aware that if the plugin itself is not GDPR compliant there is no point in using it.

I do know that the wp-engine location add-on is GDPR compliant but it’s quite pricy for simply getting us to comply with gdpr.

    Hello @gomiku,

The only data that GEO my WP saves in cookies is the user’s current location, and it is being collected when using the auto-locator feature and/or the Current Location shortcode/widget. If you choose to use this feature, then the Current Location shortcode/widget has a “Clear Location” button that allows the user to clear his location which will also remove it from the cookies ( you can test the feature in this live demo ).

Other then the above, if you are using the Members Locator core extension of the plugin, which is an integration with BuddyPress, the location users add to their profile is being saved in a custom database table. But users can always delete this location from their Member Profile page.

I hope this answers your questions.

Let me know if you have additional questions.
