I’m using it on pages only, in conjunction with NexGen photo gallery. Each individual picture gets its own discrete url/page, and the stars are displayed below it.
My problem is that the votes are not “per page.” I tested by voting on one page, then found that every other page had my one vote showing. I’m the only one voting as the site is not live yet. So, now every picture (out of around 200) has one vote, even though I only voted once.
You are using plugin wrong. Rating is post or page based, you can’t just add 10 or more rating blocks in one post, if you do they will behave as one.
It’s very hard to create a system you need here where votes will be tracked to individual rating call, they must be tied to something. Since WordPress is formed around posts, pages and comments, rating I created is also based on these. If you were to use WordPress media library as a gallery, each image is actually a post so it would be possible to use rating with that.
Thanks, but I’m not “using it wrong.” I have only one rating block per page. I’ve since found the problem.. NexGen doesn’t create an actual page for each image.. it fakes it. I’ll look for another solution that does what I want to do, thanks.
Well, rating must be tied to posts, pages or comments. I checked NexGen, and they use their own rewriting of URL’s and each image appears on the different URL, but still they are not connencted to WOrdPress posts.
