I’m using the thumb rating system instead of the stars. However there are no restriction settings available for thumbs, only for stars. I found a forum post saying that the restriction settings are copied from stars to thumbs though.
I’m using the RPX plugin to let users login my site using openid, facebook, linkedin and twitter. Now if a user logs in with all these sites, they can vote 4 times.
How to prevent this?
PS. I tried registering for the gdragon forum, but the activation mails are never sent.
Yeash, I didn’t see this question before, and it’s very interesting. If user users RPX and always log in with different service, most likely he gets new account every time. And plugin allows one vote for each user account. If one user as 4 accounts, he can vote ones for each one. Fix the RPX code and try to detect when one user uses different RPX service to log in.
The problem is worse though. With these settings (in the stars tab settings) enabled:
* Prevent comment author to vote.
* Use logged data (IP) to prevent duplicate voting.
I want (using thumb votes):
* To prevent comment author to vote on his own comment
* 1 vote per IP address per comment or article
At the moment both scenarios are going wrong. The IP logging should be able to block users from voting with different RPX accounts right?
