  • For me, the User Avatar plugin works with this plugin with the exception of the “remove” button. I click it, a redirect occurs but the image is never deleted.

    The URL that’s returned is:
(the url to my FEU profile edit page)/?delete_avatar=true&_nononce=704323a305&u=7

Do you have any idea why this isn’t working?

I’ve tried using the following two local avatar plugins with the FEU plugin. If “Display Custom Profile Settings” is checked under the plugin setting, the elements show but the generated field does not update. Neither of them seem to work outside of the admin area.

    Simple Local Avatars:

    Avatars Plugin

I would prefer to use one of these plugins because they use a simple file upload element. The User Avatar offers unwanted complexity such as the modal window and cropping.

The issue with User Avatar avatars not being deleted should be resolved in the current version (1.2.1), but let me know if it’s still not working for you.

I’m unfortunately too swamped to add support for more plugins’ profile fields, but if you can find how to make one of them work, definitely let me know, and perhaps shoot me a pull request on GitHub if you’d like to contribute your code to the plugin. You’d probably want to find the function(s) in the avatar plugin that handle updating the avatar and call them during either the feu_before_update_user action or the feu_after_update_user action. Any CSS and JS that the plugin includes would also need to be included in the settings view.

Unfortunately, the 1.2.1 update has not remedied avatar deletion. The same redirect occurs without the avatar being deleted.

Thanks for the pointers on cracking the other avatar plugins. I’ll get back to you on those.
