[Plugin: Front-end Editor] Fatal error: Class ‘frontEd_image’ not found

  • After (automatic) updating from FEE 1.4 to FEE 1.5 I’m seeing this error:
Fatal error: Class 'frontEd_image' not found in *****/httpdocs/wp-content/plugins/front-end-editor/fields/other.php on line 224.

Consequently FEE disabled itself and won’t activate again. I’ve commented the offending line and could get FEE to activate again.

Could you please make sure in future versions NOT to enable new options by default (like the new theme image option). It prevents these errors from happening and I don’t have make sure some new “obscure” settings is activated by default, messing with my theme.

Please don’t get me wrong, I’m really fond of this plugin and appreciate all your efforts, but I really loathe plugins which automatically activate settings without my specific consent.

    Thanks 🙂

  • Thanks for noting that error. I forgot to test plugin activation.

You’re right, I’ll go from enabled by default to disabled by default.

nevermind, i commented out ‘frontEd_image::init();’ and it seems to work.

i do like that my blockquotes have reappeared w/ the new version.
    thanks.

Thanks Scribu. And again, thanks for a wonderful plugin! The new wysiwyg editor is much much better and for the first time we felt confident to totally switch over to the full editor. Thanks for that.

I’m glad you like it, although you should really thank the guy(s) that wrote NicEdit. 🙂
