[Resolved] [Plugin: Front-end Editor] Editing capabilities of widgets for other users

  • We’re using the P2 theme (by Automattic) and something strange is (not…) happening in the sidebar: the editing capability of (all) widgets in the sidebar is not working for the other administrators (while it’s working for me). All other elements work fine to edit for the other administrators.

The site is a multi site installation.

I’ve tried to alter the permissions and tried that the other administrator creates the widget, but nothing of this changes the situation.

On a side note I can mention that we are working on creating this internal (private) platform for our company and want everyone to be able to edit (on the front end) their respective text widget that are supposed to work as task lists.

Being a MultiSite environment, regular admins probably don’t have the ‘edit_themes’ capability. It turns out that it should be checking for the ‘edit_theme_options’ cap instead.

This is now fixed in the development version.

Thank you so much! Suddenly there are a bunch of big smiles here in the office 🙂
