Could you please advise on the way the plugin handles images when more than one category is selected by the author?

How does it choose which image to display? With this knowledge I may be able to advise users how to influence the image that the plugin chooses when they have a post with more than one category selected.

    Many thanks!

  • @m One: Yes, it is 100% predictable. Update to version 1.4.4 and read http://fw2s.com/2012/01/19/fpw-category-thumbnails-1-4-4-released/ post.

Thanks Frank – had a read but still a little confused in real use scenario.

For example, assuming I have categories A, B & C and a post has all three selected is there any way, without manually selecting the category thumbnail, that the thumbnail for category A can be prioritized over the other 2?

    Many thanks for your input.

Yes, if category A is first as the alphabetic sort goes then remove “Featured Image” first then set “Do not overwrite if post / page has thumbnail assigned already” flag and update your post. The thumbnail for category A will be selected.
