[Resolved] [Plugin: FoxyShop] Using All in one seo pack with Foxyshop

  • I have a client website where Foxyshop is used for shopping cart. Now he wants to use All in one seo pack for the seo, but the plugin doesnt work on foxyshop’s products page.

My question, what would be required to get both plugins to listen to each other successfully? Or even it is possible?

If possible, is it trivial or need some extensive customization?

    Thanks a lot!

Glad you got it figured out. I did test this a little bit a few weeks ago and found that selecting “Products” on the AIOSEO Settings Page did the trick and the panels showed up on the product page.

    Thanks!

I see that the panels show up on product pages once you check the “SEO for Custom Post Types:” and then make sure that foxyshop_products are selected in the select box, but setting a title on the product page still doesn’t work – http://thelikeness.org/products/light-the-way-ep/ – any tips?

Nick, AIOSEO is I think running at a lower context than FoxyShop’s naming filter so FoxyShop overwrites it. As of version 3.3 there’s not a way to solve this but… what I’m going to do to fix this and provide more flexibility is to change the plugin to use the filter only if a custom title is entered. So you could just remove the custom page titles in the FoxyShop settings for single products and then FoxyShop wouldn’t interfere at all with the page titles. I’ll email you with the beta of version 3.4 so you can install and try it out.

Sounds amazing, spark. Looking forward to trying it out!

@nickff, did you fix this with the update? I see on your site that your titles are working.

I’m having issues with mine and have followed all of the steps. Working everywhere except on the product pages.

    Thanks!

@revconcept – this is happening because of the output buffer method that AIOSEO relies on. The FoxyShop template pages are stopping short of the buffer action, thus causing the title rewrite not to happen. I’m going to release a patch for this which will switch the special FoxyShop template includes to a slightly less-invasive method. If you can email me at web -at- sparkweb -dot- net I’ll send you the files to try out before pushing them out as an upgrade.
