# Plugin for custom startpage

 * Dear WordPress users,
 * I am fairly new to WordPress and so far I am reall happy with it.
 * However, I’d like to know is there a plugin to design your own startpage. It 
   should still go along with my theme (which I did not design myself). I would 
   like to have a page that features pictures for the categories for example and
   something for me to add a welcome message.
 * Is there anything like this out there?
    Any suggestions are greatly appreciated.

    Create a page with what you want go to admin – settings – reading
   select “static front page” option and choose the page you created. wasn’t that
   easy? :>)

 * Yes that sounds very easy. Will the header and footer of the template still be
   added to the page that I created?
 * And do I create the page in WordPress (just like me ‘About Me’ page for instance)?
