Support » Fixing WordPress » Plugin for booking tours

  • I am seeking advice on plugins to enable website visitors to book tours. There are so many booking plugins out there but I have yet to find one that does what I want.

I have a number of nature tours that I offer and would like potential customers to be able to choose the tour they want and book it. If there are places still available on that tour, I would like other customers to be able to book onto the same tour. At the moment I have only one main tour guide (me) and need to ensure I do not get double-booked. It is possible that, in the future, I might have additional guides and could add more tours but, obviously, only one tour per guide at any given time. All tours have a fixed start time and duration.

I have tried the Booking Activities plugin, which does part of what I want. That is, if a tour (it calls them ‘events’) is already booked, customers can add themselves to it. The problem is that customers cannot create an “event” themselves, which prevents them from booking tours on free days. I have to create and schedule the event myself to then enable customers to book on it.

I have also looked at the Bookly plugin, including their back end demo. This is mostly an appointment booking plugin and it meets the requirements to allow customers to create appointments (or in my case create an instance of a tour). It also prevents different resources (in my case tour guides from being overbooked). However, it does not support setting fixed start times for appointments (tours). It is also unclear whether it would support other customers bokking onto an existing tour.

I have also looked at Start Booking. It looks promising and I signed up for a free trial but the functionality they call “classes”, which I would need to allow multiple people to book onto one tour is not available in the trial version, so I cannot try it.

I have also tried Calendarista and looked at many others. Many require payment and I do not want to buy or sign up for one until I know it can do what I want it to do.

Does anyone know of a plugin that can do what I want?

    Thanks
