Just received an error that file does not exist.
File existed - path was correct - yet file could not be found.
We finally installed another plugin which works like charm.

    Hi Peter,

thank you for your great assistance in our case, I very much appreciate that you tried to help us and dived into this to find the problem
The plugin works well on the normal website, I have tested it as you said and you were right it is the Apache login that prevents the file open .
I was wondering if it would work with CURL
Very much regret it so - as the flexible URLs is just what I would have needed for this project .
Take care and keep up your good work.

    Hello Mr. Gross,

    We have the same problem.
We have 2 systems: One test system that is hosted on one of our servers and one live system that is hosted on a server of 1&1 (German provider).
On our test system the plugin is working without any errors, but on the live system we get the error message Filedownload Error: file '...' does not exist!!

Do you have any idea what could be the problem or if there are any comparable plugins?!
