[Plugin: File Groups] Upload/Insert icons missing in action

  • With this plugin active – the upload/insert icons above the Edit Post content area are replaced with a button to create a related file group. (instead of having the button added to the list?)

Clicking on the Create Related file group – requires a tag to be added to the post before you can create the File Group. However the tag isn’t “copied” to the File Group edit window after clicking the button.

But this a great idea and I look forward to using with one of my current projects.

  • Hi Tom. Removing the upload/insert button is indeed part of the spec of this plugin… it is meant to be a replacement for such functionality, for environments where files are meant to be archived and organized, not inserted inline.

Clicking the “create related file group” button *should* create a new file group with the appropriate tags copied over from the post you were editing… is that not working?

Ah interesting, file-groups would be a replacement for the media library? And I can’t insert an image in a post?

Yes, the tag did not appear on the related file group entry after I clicked on the button within the post edit screen.

Perhaps a future version will keep the inserting around but, for the time being and for our own current uses for file groups, we haven’t had to worry about that.

The tag not appearing, though… I will have to investigate that.

Ah, figured it out! Pushing version 1.1.1 now. Thanks!

In file groups, in back end while uploading a file, in author section only admin is getting selected, I want all the registered users can upload the files through login. Please help me on this issue.
