Is there anyone that knows the answer to this?

I would say no. Any method that uses email to communicate is usually not secure. This is because email is generally sent in “clear text” across the internet. That said, there are encrypted email solutions out there.

If you don’t know if you have encrypted email or not, the answer is you don’t have encrypted email.

Here is some information on encrypted email: http://lifehacker.com/180878/how-to-encrypt-your-email
It does require both the sender and receiver to be setup with special software.

If you are running a website that handles sensitive information, you should probably look into purchasing something designed to do so (i.e. mentions being able to secure such information).

    Cheers!

Thank you hjtmtk. That is very helpful. Does anyone know if there is a plugin that exists that enables one to send encrypted forms – both information in form fields as well as attachments? If not, does anyone know good software programs to do so? Thank you for any suggestions.
