  • I got a 404 error, too. So made a page called ‘fbtab’, and saved it as a draft. The tab page came up fine after that.

I suspect this happened because I’m on a Windows server on Godaddy. I’ve had issues with directory redirects before. I think this could have been fixed with a change to my web.config file, but I don’t have time to research it today.

Please download the latest update and let me know if you’re still experiencing this problem.

I am having the same issues… AND suddenly while I was setting things up.
everything was working just fine, and then my last refresh I get….

    “Page not found

The page you are looking for might have been removed,
had its name changed, or is temporarily unavailable.

    Please try the following:
If you typed the page address in the Address bar, make sure that it is spelled correctly.

    – Click the Back button in your browser to try another link.
    – Use a search engine like Google to look for information on the Internet.

HTTP 404 – File not found”

My urls are secure. I have the latest version of the wordpress and the plug in.

    here is my fb page:
    but the page is there….

not a techy… is it best i just use an app from fb? I would prefer managing content from wordpress.

hi everyone getting this error too Ive used facebook tabs before with no problem, but now im getting this error on a new fresh instalation, any clue on how to fix the issue?

    Inernet Explorer 8:

Warning: Invalid argument supplied for foreach() in /home/www/web266/html/weilhalt/wp-content/plugins/facebook-tab-manager/fbtab.php on line 384

Taking a look at this now.

I don’t have a clear answer for people seeing 404 errors. I’m not having that problem on my own installations, and I know others are using the plugin successfully. Sometimes it helps me provide clues if you give me a link to the /fbtab/ url.

weilhalt, I looked into my code for the source of that foreach error. Although I probably should have tested for the existence of the array before starting the foreach loop, it’s a reference to a WordPress global that should not be empty — $wp_roles->roles.

I will put out an update this morning that includes a work-around while I try to figure out why that would be happening in the first place.

Thanks that’s very kind of you and I am awaiting your update.

Please try version 3.01 and tell me if the problem goes away. As a fallback if the roles array is not detected, the plugin will now add the default roles / capabilities for logged-in users, allowing admins and editors to edit the fbtab post type.

3.0 adds the ability for admins to specify whether authors and contributors should also have access to fbtabs similar to their rights for other posts. That’s the code that was evidently causing problems for you, although I’m still not sure why.

Whatever you changed, it works now 🙂
    Hail to the king 😀
