[Plugin: Facebook] Publishing as a page instead of a user

  • I manage a large, multi-author blog which isn’t mine but my employer’s – when I “mention” a user or a page, it publishes to Facebook on behalf of me when I would prefer to have it publish on behalf of my employer. Is there any way to associate or tweak those features so they publish on behalf of my employer’s Facebook page instead of my personal account? Thanks.

Not currently, but that’s good idea. It’s something we’ll consider adding in the next version.

Wait, I thought that was covered with “Post all new WordPress Post or Pages to a specified Facebook Page.”

The FB app has been created with my friends account, as I don’t have one. He created a page for the website before this (with its own URL) that I think is linked to his personal account.

He then did the dev thing for the secret key and the like.

So everything is going to go to his personal account (/friend) rather than our page (/page)?

@rftlasers: I think you can post things ON whichever page you want, but each post will be published BY your friend, not your Facebook page.

The publisher bit posts to the Page *as* the page, but to your Timeline as you.

The mentions thing appears to always post as you, however I believe this is a limitation of Facebook as well. I’ve noticed that a Page can’t post to a user’s timeline, but it can post to other Pages as the page itself, if there’s a likes-relationship between them.
