what do you mean by “The publish link seems to be working very inconsistently.” ??

    Can you explain more ?

The image use to publish come from the OG tags.

If the plugin cannot find the image you specify, he will use your applications icon instead.

Set the Image url as %POST_IMAGE% to let the plugin use the featured image of each post.

    Thanks for the response.

The inconsistency I have seen was that some posts would publish to our Facebook page with a picture, some would not – and the Facebook debugger lists an OG image in all cases.

I do have %POST_IMAGE% set already, but an image does not always appear.

I must add that this inconsistency has only happened on a small number of occasions, and in actual fact an image has been published for all posts since my original question above – maybe an error Facebook-side caused the OG tag not to be interpreted and displayed correctly?

Happy to leave as resolved, and will post again should this reoccur.

Note that using %POST_IMAGE% will said to the plugin to search:

    1. for featured image
    2. if no featured image, he will search for the first image in your posts.

If the first image found is not compatible with opengraph requirement, it can break it.
Note that an Thumbnail Image for facebook opengraph must be at least 200px wide.

I think that is probably exactly what it was – the images may well have been less than 200px wide, which is why nothing was displayed!

Thank you for pointing this out – I must have completely overlooked it!

You should try the debugger, Facebook will tell you if the image is good or not.
