[Resolved] [Plugin: Extra Security] This broke my entire blog

  • When this plugin is installed, it makes NOTHING, so you couldn’t have ANY problems.

    You must activate the protection of your blog manually. There is also a WARNING for those who want to prevent their blog from cookies stealing and directory browsing.

    I would appreciate your changing the rating of this plugin, if your problem was not made by this plugin.

    Thank you!

    This plugin killed not just my wordpress but my whole domain.

    I read the warning for Directory Browsing so I left that out but clicked the rest.
    And the Plugin Extra Security killed my whole domain. Now I get Internal Server Error on every domain hosted there….

    You need to remove this plugin or make some changes to it…

    Stay away from this plugin!

    Hey my friend, i’ve just installed this plugin too, and also leave it uncheck that warning and now I have the same problem

    The server encountered an internal error or misconfiguration and was unable to complete your request.

    Please contact the server administrator, webmaster@XXXXX.XXX and inform them of the time the error occurred, and anything you might have done that may have caused the error.

    More information about this error may be available in the server error log.

    Additionally, a 500 Internal Server Error error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request.

    Is there a solution?
    Couse I search it in .htaccess but I dont know what do delete.
    Any help pls?

    Thanks James…the frist one I cant find the active_plugins..I dont have it
    the secound one is not working :((
    Any suggestion my friend?
    Thanks for taking time to review my issue

    @macmanx

    You have to have an active_plugins row, it’s part of the standard WordPress database. Check the wp_options table again.

    If that doesn’t help, there could be something else wrong. Internal server errors are usually described in more detail in the server error log. If you have access to your server error log, generate the error again, note the date and time, then immediately check your server error log for anything useful. If you don’t have access to your server error log, ask your hosting provider to look for you.

    James i’ve checked twice and the active_plugins is not there..I’ll search for the error log..thanks

    Ok here is how I resolved this issue…
    login with your cpanel file manager ..search the .htaccess file…and delete all these

    # Disable directory browsing – wpsectre
    Options All -Indexes

    # Protect wpconfig.php – wpsecdue
    <files wp-config.php>
    order allow,deny
    deny from all
    </files>

    # Protect the htaccess file – wpsecuno
    <files .htaccess>
    order allow,deny
    deny from all
    </files>

    # Protect bandwidth – wpseccinque
    <IfModule mod_rewrite.c>
    RewriteCond %{HTTP_REFERER} !^$
    RewriteCond %{HTTP_REFERER} !^http://(.+\.)?twitsaway\.com/ [NC]
    RewriteRule .(jpg|jpeg|png|gif)$ http://www.andreapernici.com/nohotlinking.jpg [NC,R,L]
    </IfModule>

    # BEGIN Extra Security
    php_flag session.cookie_httponly on
    # END Extra Security

    If you dont find all dont is may couse I had other stuff

    THANKS FOR FING UP MY WHOLE SITE – I ALMOST LOST THE WHOLE THING. THIS TERD OF A PLUGIN IS SUCH HIGH RISK IT SHOULD NEVER BE UP – I ALMOST NUKED A 300 POST WEBSITE. 3 HOURS OF NIGHTMARISH EFFORTS AND A MIRACLE SAVED IT.

    PULL THIS PLUG IN – IF I WOULDVE LOST MY SITE I WOULDVE SUED THE CRAP OUTTA THIS PUBLISHER. COMPLETELY IRRESPONSIBLE THIS EXISTS.

    @lelkoun

    3 hours? It seems that you have much to learn.

    I cannot remove this plugin from the WP Direcotory even if I want to do it. Only admins have a permission.
