  • Resolved per4mance

I use your great plugin and I wanna purchase the pro version but I’ve a problem with map in frontpage.

I use WP 3.4.2, BB 1.6.1 and theme BuddyBoss 2.1.2 – my web you’ll find here

If a user, admin included, use the frontend editor in BuddyPress and edit a new event the map function does not work. It works only in backend modus. Anything else works almost fine, I’m still testing.

    Thanks for your support.

Hi, do the maps show anywhere on the public side of your site? If it’s just working on the backend then it’s most likely a theme issue.

First thing to test is deactivate other plugins (BP can be left activated) and/or the default BP theme.

    Hi Marcus,

yes the map works in public see

My problem is if a user creates an event in BuddyPress frontend modus. If the user enters the address nothing happened. If he does the same in backend, everything works fine.

Any issues with well known plugins or themes?

do you have sample direct link to that for us to see? also, have you tried to disable other plugins?

I tested it with BuddyPress default theme and it won’t work too. So I suppose it is no theme issue.

    You can test it!

    1. Register for free at
    2. Go to your profile page and choose ‘Veranstaltungen’ on the left.
    3. Choose ‘Meine Veranstaltungen’
    4. Choose ‘Hinzufuegen’
    5. Fill in the form and you’ll see no map will found

Second test for you, start test at 2.

    2. Choose ‘Neu’ –> ‘Veranstaltung’ on menu top right
    3. You enter the backend mode. Try to fill out the form and you’ll see the map works fine.

Ok I found the problem in combination with another plugin.

If you use EVENTS MANAGER in combination with ‘BP User Profile Map’, your plugin won’t work in frontend. Is there any chance to do so?

I find it very useful to see a map of a user if he entered an address in profil, see this screenprint

The author writes to his plugin: Display a google map in BuddyPress members profile, or maps for Members Directory or Group members list.

I’d suggest asking the other developer. Generally speaking our plugin does work with other google map plugins. The other solution could be to disable those maps in places where EM would display a map.
