Support » Plugin: Events Manager » [Plugin: Events Manager] iCal feed url ?

  • Sorry – posted into wrong place a min ago. Shoud be here at top level.

A great plugin. Testing free version with a view to getting pro.

I have a question related to ical feeds – I can see how to create a link to an ics file – but how can I create a link to a dynamic ical feed ?

ie. so the user can subscribe to the feed in a desktop app like iCal or Lightning – and the data can be ‘refreshed’ by the remote app at intervals.

    Thank you

    Joe

short answer so will answer again 🙂

    for that you’d use yoursite.com/events.ics

Thats exactly what I need – how about for event categories ?

whilst possible if you can code, we don’t provide that out the box (yet, good idea)

    can you ?

    ie

    yoursite.com/events/categories/category/events.ics

    joe

    or

    yoursite.com/events.ics?category=categoryname

we’ll implement this ourselves eventually, but there’s many other features we’ll be adding first.

I see you’ve released an extensive update – was this included in it ? If not, will you be adding it in the near future ?

    thanks

    it’ll be a lot longer than 6 days :=)

    Who said 6 days ?

I am looking at a time frame of 6-8 weeks ?

I want to start using the plugin to develop a clients solution but will ultimately need to show events categories in iCal feeds

i answered last 6 days ago… nothing has changed since 🙂

i can’t give a time-frame for this, but I’d say at least that much time

Thanks for the heads up. Could you advise on a method to adapt the code myself to create separate feeds ?

    Joe

If I get it done – maybe then our code could be integrated with your plugin by yourselves, as part of a minor upgrade ?

I repeat – can you advise me of the best method (in terms of the framework of your plugin) that I could use to develop this event category ics feeds feature ?

If we can do it properly then we can offer the code to you in such as way that you could incorporate it into a minor release and offer everyone this functionality

    cheers

whereas, if we just hack your plugin the quickest way we can see, I suspect that what we get will be of no use to anyone else
