 * Feature request: It would be nice to have a location tag for an external google
   maps link (eg. “view this map in a new window”)

 * Could do at some point. I’d imagine you can probably also do this by adding a
   link in your formats somehow.

 * I second that request. Placing a link is not an elegant solution as you cannot
   place the link within the map or next to the address. (I.e. not within the format
   but only in the notes.)

 * you can use Location format > Default location balloon format (if you want to
   place it inside the map) and if you want to place it in the note then you can
   just place the link below #_NOTES

 * Why haven’t I thought of placing the link in the balloon?
 * Thank you! 🙂

 * I spoke too fast. How can you place the Google map link in the balloon if you
   don’t have the relevant placeholder? You place ‘a’ link that will be present
   on all maps irrespective of the actual map itself, but the link will always point
   to the same map. Unless you create a placeholder I can’t see what you suggested
   can work. Am I missing something?

 * there’s a way to build a link to google maps with the name of your place, which
   can be made with placeholders
 * e.g. [http://maps.google.com/maps/place?q=oxford+street,+london&hl=en](http://maps.google.com/maps/place?q=oxford+street,+london&hl=en)
