The process of adding events that last over the midnight can be streamlined. Here’s how it works and how it could work better:

    Recurring events

    How it works

If you enter an end time that is earlier than the start time, and do not know to or forget to change the Each event lasts [0 ] day(s) setting, the event submission fails (currently causing the loss of all the entered data).

    How it should work

If you enter an end time that is earlier than the start time, the setting Each event lasts [0 ] day(s) would automatically be updated to 1.

    Single events

    How it works

If you enter an end time that is earlier than the start time, and do not change the end date to be later than the start date, the event submission fails (currently causing the loss of all the entered data).

    How it should work

If you enter an end time that is earlier than the start time and submit the form without entering an end date, the following day will be used as the end date. If you had selected the same date as the start and end dates, the end date would be changed to the following day. In both of these cases, the submission form could notify the user of this and ask for a clarification.
