 * Hello
 * I’m starting to use Event manager, and I’ve got a problem using the export to
   CSV function : all the letters with accents (such as é, è, à, very frequent letters
   in France) are corrupted in the .CSV
    For example, the word “événement” (event
   in French) turns into “√©v√©nement”
 * Is there a way to change, or fix, the character encoding used by the plugin ?
 * Does anybody had the same problem ?
 * Thank you
 * Regards,

 * I tried your text and seems okay with my test site; can you check your site encoding?

 * I looked into this not long ago, and this is actually a problem with Excel and
   encoding. If you open up the csv file in a text editor, you can confirm this
   as chances are the text is correctly encoded there.

 * @agelonwl : My site encoding is ITF8, but
    [@marcus](https://wordpress.org/support/users/marcus/):
   you’re right, the text opens with accents in TextEdit. I’ll try to fix the issue
   with Excel, now that I know the plugin isn’t the cause.
 * Thanks to both of you for this quick answer.

 * I found a quick workaround for the Excel issue : Ditch Excel and import the CSV
   to Google Docs. I just tried and it works, without encoding corruption.
