    you need to run the placeholders through the event object, e.g. $EM_Event->output(array('format'=>'<i>#_12HSTARTTIME - #_12HENDTIME</i>');

    When you say that the placeholders need to be run through the event object.. where so I find this object? am i writing this into a template?

    yes, you can run that object on the templates file.

    where are you editing exactly? if you’re using PHP, you need to set up an $EM_Event object, either by getting the global $EM_Event or creating a new object like $EM_Event = new $EM_Event(id);
