I am very new to designing WordPress templates, in fact, this is my first ‘real’ attempt at it. I am designing a food truck website that I am hoping to integrate the events manager plugin into the site. The events manager plugin is going to be the core functionality of the entire site.
I am very confused as to where i need to integrate the events manager code into a page template. For example, on the front page design I created in html (it is not in wordpress yet), I am wanting to create a custom 5-day schedule that uses events manager and each is linked to its own post with its content. You can see the design mockup here: http://www.guerrillastreetfood.com/em/ . I am also wanting to include a ‘Today’ section which would be a focus area on the front page displaying ‘today’s event’.
I saw that there is an ‘Events’ widget that basically has all the attributes I would want to use for the custom 5-day schedule I am wanting to create in my page template, but I really don’t know where to start.
If there is anyone who can help point me in the right direction to get started I would GREATLY appreciate it!
Thank you in advance!
ps. I am a designer, and i really get lost with programming…left brain/right brain 🙂
