Support » Plugins » [Plugin: Events Calendar] Is anyone going to fix this plugin?

  • It would appear that someone has taken over this project, and at the same time, broke it.

    This is a GREAT plugin, will you please fix it?

  • While I haven’t yet installed it, this may prove to be a solution:

    I’ve tried contacting the owner (Luke) to see if he can update the download on WordPress (WP has 6.4 for download, but there should be a 6.5 version with bug fixes).

    I’ve also fixed the url file access problem for anyone using Dreamhost (or other hosts that don’t allow url file access).

    You need to edit the ec_calendar.class.php file in the event calendar plugin folder at line #42 from:
    $ecData = file_get_contents($ecFile);

    $ch = curl_init();
    $timeout = 5;
    curl_setopt ($ch, CURLOPT_URL, $ecFile);
    curl_setopt ($ch, CURLOPT_RETURNTRANSFER, 1);
    curl_setopt ($ch, CURLOPT_CONNECTTIMEOUT, $timeout);
    $ecData = curl_exec($ch);

    Please note that this fix will only work if your hosting provider has cURL installed and enabled on your site.

    I will try and post back here once (if) I hear from Luke and we figure out a solution. In the meantime if you have questions/problems you can contact me through my site at:

    6.5.1 is the current official version now.

    I have a problem with this plugin and wondered if anyone can help.

    Installed perfectly, widgets works well, (I need to make a few cosmetic changes but …), but when I view the widget as a full calendar (as opposed to a list) WITHOUT any events it’s fine. As soon as I enter an event I get this error:
    “Review your large Calendar Date Format in the Events-Calendars options (with a rather condescending 🙂 )”.

    I understand what the error means but no matter what date format I try I still get the error.

    Can anyone either tell me what the default settings are (so I can try them even though I am sure they are as now) or tell me how to fix this.

    Hi all

    I installed the events calendar and it has messed up the formatting on my template.

    I get error code: Fatal error: Call to undefined function: ec3_get_calendar() in /home2/xxxxxxxx/public_html/wp-content/plugins/eventcalendar3/widget.php on line 56

    I cannot remove the widget, but would love to. I have purchased a set of 10 themes and no matter which theme I use, the formatting is destroyed. I have used a free them as well and the error is still there, the widget cannot be removed and I am unable to add or remove any other widgets.

    I have gone to my cpanel file manager and followed the error. This is what the code looks like:

    /** Event Calendar widget. */
    function ec3_widget_cal($args)
    $options = get_option(‘ec3_widget_cal’);
    echo $before_widget . $before_title;
    echo ec3_default_string($options[‘title’],’Event Calendar’);
    echo $after_title;
    echo $after_widget;

    function ec3_widget_cal_control()
    $options = $newoptions = get_option(‘ec3_widget_cal’);
    if ( $_POST[“ec3_cal_submit”] )

    Anyone know what is going on?

    sullivanka – I had the same problem and had to crow bar the thing out of there!
    What themes have you tried this on? There might be a back-door.
