[Plugin: Events Calendar] Event Calenar and Spartan Theme

    First of all, I have to thank you guys for making a great plugin. It works beautifully and I am extremely grateful that you have done this work.

    I am having some problems with the event calendar however. I am using the Spartan Theme with the Features Gallery at the top of the main column. You can see my site here The main photo for the event works just fine, but the date code and the photo caption are showing up on the features gallery image and on the excerpt on the front page. It is rather ugly. Do you know what I can do about this? Have I made some mistake?

    WP,

    Since the solution is a mystery to everyone, (or since everyone has dismissed me because I can’t spell “event calenar”) I have done some workarounds to make the Events Calendar work better on my site. I am using the excerpts feature and thinking of not having the events postings show in the features gallery. That way the ugly code is not so … ugly.

    I have been installing WordPress 2.7, with the Options theme (Blue Danube). I wanted a better Calendar and I too have installed the Events Calendar pluging … only to see the Features Gallery break 🙁

    Are you willing to share your workarounds, frenchtowner, so that the rest of us so affected might make the gallery & events calendar work together, please?

    The only thing that I did was to use the excerpt feature on the events postings. It still formats the date inside brackets, but it does away with the caption coding. It looks much better but it’s not perfect by any means.

    Frenchtowner – can you be more specific as to how you resolved this? I’ve been messing around with all of the javascript for both of these plugins, but haven’t gotten it resolved. Thanks.

    After looking at Frenchtowner’s site, it appears he’s using Event Calendar, and not Events Calendar. The names are so confusing…

    Thanks for looking into this CKPicker.

    Yes, I’m talking about Events Calendar from http://heirem.fr/

    I’ve got the Javascript coding skills to look at the problem, hopefully fix/patch it, and the tell everyone else what to do (!!!) … but I’m very much lacking in available time right now.

    Hopefully I’ll get back to this in a couple of weeks.

    Either that, or re-write the Events Feature using Scriptaculous…
