[Plugin: Event Organiser] Sort by City

  • Hi there.
First, thanks much for the awesome plugin I’ve been using it a couple of websites I’ve built.

I do have a question though. I’ve been trying to modify the plugin so that I can filter events by city as opposed to venue by adding a new field in the database and having a list of cities shown on the template – but I can’t seem to find which file handles the query after a user clicks on a city.

If you could help me out here, that’d be awesome!
    Thanks again!

Do you mean what is normaly the venue page? If so, WordPress handles that. Venue is just a taxonomy, so when you visit a particluar venue’s page, WordPress interprets it as a taxonomy term page and so lists all posts associated to that term.

I am planning on introducing a different break down of fields rather than simply ‘Address’,’Post Code’ and ‘Country’. The aim would be to allow more advanced venue based queries, and potentially, custom meta. However, I am waiting for native WordPress support for taxonomy meta and for this trac to be resolved.
