  • Hi Ben,
    Yup, I’ve been slow to add in actions and filters – something I’ve been meaning to do for a while.

    I shan’t be be plastering the plug-in with hooks just yet – since I want to think about naming conventions and where best to put them. But let me know if there are any that you would find useful 🙂

    I shall try to get some some venue admin hooks added into 1.3.3 (out this week). If not, it may be kicked to 1.4.

    Thanks

    Thanks Stephen,

    I completely understand – don’t rush it. Make sure to get a hook naming convention sorted as I’ve previously found that frustrating in plugins that I have developed that have evolved over time.

    – Ben

    Are these extra fields to sit inside the venue location metabox? I’d rather be adding hooks there than anywhere else at the moment. I might consider allow extra metaboxes to be registered for the page.

    I shall also be adding the following actions:

    • eventorganiser_insert_venue – runs when a venue is created
    • eventorganiser_save_venue – runs when a venue is created/update
    • eventorganiser_delete_venue – runs when a venue is deleted

    Each of these will pass the term ID of the appropriate ‘event-venue’ term and also the slug (which can be used to reference the necessary meta details). Of course these are kind of redundant since there are WordPress hooks which will pass the term ID (from which you can get thes slug). But the above hooks are fired after the *_eo_venues table is updated.

    @ben – please see this post: http://www.harriswebsolutions.co.uk/event-organiser/general-announcements/2012/major-changes-in-1-4/

    If anyone wants to volunteer to test this in beta, let me know 🙂
