• Hi there.

First let me say this plugin (even still in it’s early stages) shows promise to be fill the hole of a very needed plugin, Good luck!

And here are a few inputs:

    Bug:
I can’t seem to be able to add any events when adding the posts to the calendar. (I’m using wp 2.8.4 with chrome).

    Bug:
When the “add event” dialog box opens, it opens much lower then the place of the actual calendar. (This bug might be relevant only for the theme I am using. I didn’t look deap into that: http://www.danceinisrael.com )

I can’t seem to be able to add any events when adding the posts to the calendar. (I’m using wp 2.8.4 with chrome).

    Bug (feature?) :
When I check the “Show blog posts as events in the scheduler:” option, I get into the calendar the posts, But I also get an “event” for every uploading of a file to the system.

    Bug (feature?) :
It taked a double click to add an event. Can an option be added to allow for a “one click” add event?

    Feature request:
Could you extend the “Allow users’ groups to edit events”, to allow users according to their “level” (This way, I could allow it only to “authors”, and just anyone who registered).
And the best would be to create abilities like:
    1) View calendar.
    2) Add/edit event to calendar.
    3) Edit some one else’s event.

I would also like other things (which I imagine wouldn’t come easy). But here is the list just for fun:
    1) searching – inside the events.
    2) Allowing to add location for the event.
    3) Exporting the events (to ical or google calendar)
    4) e-mail event to someone.
    5) Categories/coloring for different types of events (could also go with the searching). (similar to what google calendar offers)
    6) multiple calendars on the same website?

I understand that the new API gives room for some of these things to be implemented.
I am very hoping to see this happening soon!

Also, please consider contacting automatic, as I believe this theme will be VERY useful for WordCamp organizers.

    Cheers,
    Tal

  • >But I also get an “event” for every uploading of a file to the system
Problem confirmed, it will be fixed in next update.

    >Can an option be added to allow for a “one click” add event?
Functionality is supported by client side so we will think about adding related option to the admin panel.

    >Could you extend the “Allow users’ groups to edit events”, to allow users according to their “level”
Will be added with the next update.

    >3) Edit some one else’s event.
It will require a more serious customization. So most probably it will not be added in next release, but will be set as middle term goal.

    >>I would also like other things
Existing version lacks many useful options for sure. But we plan to improve it in future ( thanks for feedback by the way )

The next update will be released in next two weeks.

    Hello stanislav_volski,
I love your product, and to know it will get better is a big relief – you are bringing (as I already wrote) a very needed plugin to the wordpress community.

Also, consider building the code so to allow for a RTL (right to left) CSS support, and a po/mo file for translations.
This will allow me to customize your plugin to Hebrew, which will be very useful for people in my country. (and all Arab countries for that matter)

    Best wishes,
    Tal

    >>so to allow for a RTL (right to left) CSS support
Is changing direction of the text in all elements will be enough, or the direction of time scale need to be changed as well? ( Now time flows from left to right, is it need to be changed as right to left? )

    stanislav_volski – It depends.
A normal Hebrew calendar will be from right to left, including the dates.
BUT, people (like me) who might be using the calendar, would use it both as for Hebrew and English events. So they (well, me), would like the comfort of the RTL support, but not to have it turned on all the time.

And if we are being so open about features, here are a few more things (features) I thought about:
    1) Knowing who is the person who “started” the event (and some minimum log of who edited the event).
    2) A view of the events in a list foramt (the same as google calendar allows) – very important feature in my view.

Do you have some SVN (maybe trac ?) to allow someone (like me) to be able to follow your progress (and feel mighty optimistic) ?

    Cheers,
    Tal

so the link to the plugin?

    Great plugin, thanks.

Just one thing – fortnightly recurring events. Possible?

oh, and whats the story with this page: scheduler-calendar

every time I delete it it gets recreated πŸ™ I want to show the calendar on a page of my own chosing!!!

I simply can’t get rid of this page…

thanks.. but i was looking for a booking calendar which allow other user to pick and add event or comment in the calendar only after i approve them πŸ™‚

    >>every time I delete it it gets recreated
Fixed in version 1.2 ( must be released as for now )

and add event or comment in the calendar only after i approve them

Plugin has not separate admin part so it not possible ( at least without some code tweaking )

    Any answer to my question?

    Are fortnightly recurring events possible?

I just tried your plugin and must say it’s quite amazing, except that I am not able to add line breaks in the event description (Firefox on Doze). In fact pressing the enter key closes and submits the description box…
The only “work-around” I found was pressing shift+enter.

Is this a bug or a feature?

    >>Are fortnightly recurring events possible?
Yes, you need to update plugin to the version 1.3 and enable recurring events in the settings of plugin.

In fact pressing the enter key closes and submits the description box…
The only “work-around” I found was pressing shift+enter.

It is by design. Enter counted as edit-process-end, shift-enter as new line. The only way to change behavior – modify related js file.
