    Thank you for your active commenting, for finding issues so we can improve the plugin.

    Sorry, there is a confusion in understanding what actually is a permalink. Some users recognize permalink as link to a specific page (applies only for pages) while some users count in also links to categories, tags, etc. But in general you are right, a “permalink” QR Code in widget should display the exact location where scanned.

    This issue will be fixed in next version (1.4 and later)

    I guess I can see (a little) where the permalink discussion gets complicated. Defining a permalink as…

    a URL that points to a specific blog or forum entry after it has passed from the front page to the archives. Because a permalink remains unchanged indefinitely, it is less susceptible to link rot. Most modern weblogging and content-syndication software systems support such links.

    Doesn’t help the situation either – as categories and tags can have a specific URL, but may be subject to change.

    This shouldn’t make any difference, as far as your plugin is concerned though. The QR Codes are dynamically created, when each page is loaded, so the QR Code Widget should display the exact location where it is displayed.

    I’ll look for this feature in your next release.

    Issue has been fixed as promised.

    Plugin version 1.4 offers a choice whether to preserve URL queries in permalink or to trim queries and make URL more simple and QR Code smaller. It is admin’s choice:
    define(“ESPONCE_PERMALINK_WITH_QUERY”, true);

    Yes, this issue appears to be resolved, as of the 1.4 update. Thanks!
