    I’ve set up eShop on and it’s pretty straight-forward except…

    I set up buyer and seller accounts on paypal sandbox and:

    • a) I am not automatically taken to paypal to complete my order(s) — I must click the button
    • b) after successfully completing payment at paypal, when I am returned to my site and check, orders are marked ‘failed’
    • c) paypal shows successfully completed at both buyer and seller accounts.
    • d) email confirmation bounces at gmail — here’s what I receive:

  • a) that is correct behaviour when in test mode. If the page auto-redirected you wouldn’t be able to get at that page to style it.

    b) yes that is correct – the email (that didn’t get through) says the order is awaiting payment review – you need to disable that.

    c) except it says the order is awaiting payment review.

    d) is almost certainly an invalid account at gmail. You need to be able to receive emails sent to the buyer(as entered in eShop checkout) and seller (as entered in eShop merchant gateway settings). These emails do not go via paypal.

    b) — WHERE does one ‘disable’ the awaiting payment review???

    at paypal sandbox, go the the list of test accounts and you’ll see a column marked payment review, should be simple from there 🙂

    OK, thanks — that did the trick (disabling payment review in PayPal sandbox)!
