[Plugin: Email Before Download] Exporting Data

    @aly22

I’ve had no response for 2 weeks on this so hopefully a new thread will assist.. When clicking to export data to csv I get a BLANK PAGE.

So I went into PHPMyAdmin to export the info. I have tried csv, xls, etc. and it is A MESS!??

Here’s what spits out – as a SINGLE LINE ENTRY! Completely unusable. Why do I need to download the fields or the captcha? How can this be exported to a simple, tab-delimited file that can be imported into PHPList for email blasts?!!

    Hi aly22,

I am not sure what is different about your install/configuration that would cause an issue with the export. Perhaps someone else with a similar issue can help.

Yes, we do place the result of the contact form submission in XML (since there is no way to know how many questions people are asking). We might consider other formats in future releases.

I understand the variations of form data, etc. but in order to make use of the data it becomes a bit of a mess. If I were able to actually see the export page itself perhaps it would have worked better/differently? I simply want to see the responses — particularly email addresses, naturally, to easily import to our mailing list

Yes, you would see email addresses in its own csv “column” once you overcome the other issues in your environment and get the export working. Good luck.

Just to let you know — ALL of my issues are resolved now with the upgrade to the plugin. THANK YOU!

    Hi aly22,

That is great to hear. The latest version didn’t have anything in it specific to the export, so I wonder if the new version just allowed you to get a fresh/clean copy of the plugin. Either way, very glad it is working for you. Have a nice weekend.

…and thank you for following up with a post letting us know things are working for you. Much appreciated.

Unfortunately, I am having a similar issue. When I try to open the CSV in excel, it will only let me open as text – I end up with long strings that are not lining up into columns 🙁

Hi – I have a different problem, which I’m not finding the answer to anywhere. I’m trying to get the names of the requesters of a download into the .csv log, not just their email addresses.

Over all the Email Before Download plugin works fine. Thank you.

    Hi there,

i have the same problem: when i click on the “Click to export the Email Before Download log as a .CSV file” button, on the settings page, i get an “Error 404 – Not Found
Sorry, but you are looking for something that isn’t here.” message…

The plugin works quite good since i’m able to recive the email with the download link, but if i try to export the csv file it simply doesn’t work.

    Any help?
