[Plugin: Electric Studio Auto Post Expire] URL of an expired post

  • Hi,

finally your plugin seems to be the only one that works for my needs (changing status of expired posts to draft without deleting the categories and tags of the post).

I have a page where all expired posts of a specific category are shown by a shortcode. That works fine, but the URL of the expired posts are not very search engine friendly:

    http://www.mydomain.de/?p=808 (or any other number)

How can I influence the structure of the expired posts? My non-expired posts have the permalink I can give them in the post edit.

    Thx for helping,

    Kerstin

  • Kerstin,

If I understand correctly, I think the easier method might be the get the ID of a post from the URL (using a function like preg_match()) and use get_permalink($id) to get a more user friendly URL.

    I hope this made sense!

    Regards,

    James
