This is pretty strange.. I am using WordPress MU and this only happens on SOME of the child blogs, although all of them are setup with identical settings and plugins (or so I think)..

On some of the blogs, when I click ‘posts’ it only shows ‘All’, ‘Published’ and ‘Trash’. If I disable the Edit Flow plugin, ‘Pending’ comes back with all of the pending posts. When I re-enable it, pending disappears.

    Any thoughts?

    Thanks,

    -James

    Hey James,
Which version of Edit Flow are you using, and do you have other plugins installed?

    Thanks,

    I’m using the latest – v.6.3

I do have other plugins installed, but they are the same across all of the blogs. I’ve listed them below.

Also, something strange I noticed. It’s actually just one blog that’s having this issue. And check this out: On the blogs that work properly, the status is called ‘Pending Review’ but on this blog, when I disable Edit Flow, the status is called ‘Pending’ for posts that are pending review. I don’t know what that might mean, but it’s probably significant somehow.

    Thanks,

    -James

Btw, I’ve tried disabling W3 and Adminimize, to no avail.

What are all of the custom statuses you have?

    Thread Starter jgentes

    (@jgentes)

I have custom statuses disabled, but they are all the defaults. In particular, the pending status is ‘pending review’

Do you have custom statuses disabled on the other sites as well?

    Thread Starter jgentes

    (@jgentes)

Yes, they are all configured the same for all plugins.

Something else I noticed: When I look at the posts screen, the ‘status’ column is missing on this particular blog, and if I check my ‘screen options’ there isn’t a checkbox for ‘status’ like there is on the other blogs.

    Very strange!

Maybe I should delete the plugin and try reinstalling? My configuration is pretty basic, so that’s not too big of a deal. Assuming this may be a database config issue of some sort.

Yes, you might try deleting and reinstalling. I don’t really have any ideas as to what it might be if it’s not showing up consistently across all of your sites and you don’t know what you need to do to reproduce it.

hmm, no didn’t seem to help.

Although does deleting and reinstalling refresh the database settings?

Because I went to the Network Admin to delete (WP 3.1.1) and when I reinstalled, on most of the blogs I didn’t even need to reactivate. And they retained their settings. Maybe I need to refresh the individual blogs somehow?

Or do you recommend dropping the plugin into the mu-plugins dir?

Ok, after much trial and error I figured it out. I copied the blog (using default blog plugin) and copied all settings except for the edit_flow_* settings in the options table.

After that was done, it returned to normal. I think I must have somehow messed up the custom status values.

Kind of a brutal fix, since this is a production blog for a customer, but I’m glad to be up and running 🙂

I was seeing this on a regular non-multisite install. The answer for me was to define ‘Pending’ (one word) as a custom status. Existing pending posts immediately showed up again.
