Apologies if this has been posted elsewhere, but I couldn’t find my precise issue.

I’ve created a post that is not “published” or “scheduled” yet I can’t seem to drag it to a new date in calendar view. Are there any other factors that could be at play that are preventing me from moving the post? I’ve tried multiple posts with no luck.

Can you share a screenshot of what you see on the calendar? It might be that you don’t have the appropriate permissions to drag it… it would require the same permissions you’d normally need to edit the post.

I can get you a screen shot shortly but I’m the site admin and am editing the calendar in that role. The links for the stories are blue and I can drag them but the calendar squares won’t turn yellow and allow the stories to “land.”

Are there other plugins you have active, and can you try deactivating them?

I have deactivated all plugins except for “Simple LDAP login” and have confirmed that this is not the source of the issue as that plugin is active on another site I admin with edit flow and I have no problems with that calendar.

Is it possible this could be an issue with my theme?

Yes, it sounds like a possible Javascript conflict. You might try briefly switching to Twenty Ten/Eleven and seeing if the issue still exists.

Okay that was it. I can contact my theme designer, but if you have any info I should pass along as to what they should be looking for that would be great.

EDIT: The theme, btw, is mag.press from obox design

Your theme probably shouldn’t be loading the JS on the calendar view. If it’s custom JS for an options page or similar in the admin, it should only be loaded on that page. If it’s for the frontend, they should use !is_admin() to only add it to the frontend.

Feel free to have them post on this thread if they have any follow up questions.

Just a follow-up in case anyone runs across this. One of our developers implemented this fix – it was indeed the theme causing the issue.
