• HI!

I’m new to WP. I am currently adding the Ecwid Random Product plugin. I already have the Ecwid shopping cart in my website. After I installed the RP plugin, this message appeared: “The cache directory for Ecwid: Random products plugin cannot be created. Please make sure that directory WP/wp-content/plugins/ecwid-useful-tools/cache/ can be created.”

I don’t know where to find the directory or how to alter it to make this plugin work. Can someone please help me?

This directory is a part of your WP installation.

Suppose, you have your WP installed in some folder and I will refer to it as to <WP-DIR>.
You need to access this directory using FTP or SSH or control panel’s file manager and then navigate to the following folder inside it:
    <WP-DIR>/wp-content/plugins/ecwid-useful-tools/

After that you will need to check whether the cache/ folder exists there. If not, create it. If it exists, just make sure that this folder’s permissions allow PHP user to write into it.

Please, let me know if you face any other troubles.

Thanks so much, Tony, for answering my question! So nice to get an answer from the creator of the plug-in himself. Pardon me, for this simple question. Since this was created for me by my host I don’t know how to access it using FTP or SSH. Where do I find it in WP’s dashboard?

    Hi, Jenny!

Unfortunately, WP does not allow to edit the files directly from dashboard, so there are two ways to solve the problem:
    1) You can contact your hosting engineers and ask them to apply solution I described above.
    2) You can ask the same guys to provide you with FTP/SSH/Control Panel credentials and apply the solution yourself.

Please, let me know if any option works for you.
