[Plugin: Easy Theme and Plugin Upgrades] Theme udpates

It sounds like this plugin will not help me with what I would like to accomplish but I want to be sure.

When “updating a theme” you risk losing all the changes you made and then having to go back and reedit all the changes made. Does this plugin, in anyway, all you to go through the update process and carry over the changes previously made into the updated theme?

Or maybe there is a plugin for that?
