[Plugin: Easy FancyBox] undefined index id

Hi – I have debug mode on, and WordPress is saying there is an error on this .php file:
Notice: Undefined index: id in /wp-content/plugins/easy-fancybox/easy-fancybox.php on line 351

Could you help me fix it?

IT’s just a notice, not an error. But if you install the development version, these notices should be gone.

You are right it is a notice, not an error. Sorry I missed that. I tried the development version but it did not help. I turned off debugging mode for now, maybe it will go away next time I try.

Same here. Using the latest released version, not development.

The error is Notice: Undefined index: id in /hsphere/local/home/funale/test.verlaatverdriet.nu/wp-content/plugins/easy-fancybox/easy-fancybox.php on line 351

The fix for this would be to replace line 350-352:

foreach ($value['options'] as $_value)
					if ($_value['id']) register_setting( 'media', $_value['id'] );
				break;

with:

foreach ($value['options'] as $_value)
					if (isset($_value['id']) && $_value['id']) register_setting( 'media', $_value['id'] );
				break;

Actually, there are quite a few more undefined notices in the latest release version. Check the Settings -> Media page when the plugin is first activated….

Hi Juliette, if you could upgrade to the dev release, and report any remaining notices, that would help more. In any case, there are notices not errors and should not interfere with normal operation of the plugin. If it is not working, there is another conflict going on.

Hi Rolf,

As a principle, I don’t install dev releases as that’s what they are: development. If you’ve patched it, tested it and are happy with it: release it.

I can send you a fixed file based on the latest public release as I solved nearly all the notices and warnings for testing purposes. You can do a file compare with your dev version to see if you caught them all…

In any case, there are notices not errors and should not interfere with normal operation of the plugin. If it is not working, there is another conflict going on.

That’s nonsense. The notices were actually interfering with the workings of the plugin as the generated javascript which is included in the pages is littered with them, thereby completely breaking your plugin.

It’s one thing to know WordPress inside and out, but quite another to write proper PHP code….

Are you seriously letting PHP blurt out errors and (even notices) in public code?!? There are error logs for that, you know?

That’s a serious security vulnerability you are running there… Better mop up your own mess before shouting at others about writing bad code.

I’m having a lot of garbage in my server logs due PHP Notice. And this one is getting really serious.

@ravanh: I realise you’ve fixed it in the dev version. Might it be time for a new release so everyone can enjoy the notice-free version automatically ?
Would save peeps reported and you the nuisance of having to respond 😉

There is much I want to do before the next version has all the options I am planning to implement. But you’re right… a half-way release might not be bad.

Please let me know if you find any issues (apart from the empty page under the Appearance admin section). If it’s stable, I might launch this one (without the empty page) in a week or so.
