On your Settings > Media admin page, there is an option called ‘Auto-open’. Set it either to Link with ID "fancybox-auto" or First Youtube link (or whatever video source you are using, i’ll asume youtube here).

With that last option, just set up one or more Youtube links in your post and the first one will always automatically open on page load.

If you want more control, use the first option. You will need to create a link to the Youtube video page and give that link the attribute id="fancybox-auto" and if you want the link to be invisible after the video has been closed, leave it without any anchor text. Like for example:

    <a href="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8YH6E5aOTgc&autoplay=1&modestbranding=1" class="fancybox-youtube" id="fancybox-auto"></a>

Thanks you very much for you reply.
I already set the option autopen, but I have where to place the source which is the video and the parameters.

do I have to place the source in one of the scripts that comes with easy fancybox? or just uploading with wordpress?

and once again I thank you.

I think I got it. one more question. whenever a refresh the website the fancy box appears again. is there any script that allows fancybox to appear once while the user is the website. I don’t mean once in his or her visit to my website, but just one time while the user is interacting with the website.

and once again I thank you RavanH

No, this is not implemented in the plugin.

In theory, you would need to put some javascript after (!) the link with ID fancybox-auto that checks for and places a cookie. Then it should recognise returning visitors by that cookie and in that case dynamically replace the fancybox-auto ID with something else (or remove the links href or something) to prevent the link from being triggered on page load…

Or you can wait for the upcoming PRO version of the plugin which will include this functionality.

    What a pity!
well, Thank you some much for that info.

    Hello RavanH,

    How are you doing?

How would you display a wordpress genereated gallery using easy fancybox?

and how would you use easy fancybox with a sortcode?

    Thanks in advance

    Hi,

It depends on how you want it to display. Say you want a normal WordPress gallery (you know with the shortcode that results in thumbnails nicely grouped in colomns) and you want the full size images to open in FancyBox instead of on a new page, then you do this:

    1. Go to the FancyBox settings and make sure the auto-detection for images is active.

    2. Go edit your page/post and insert the gallery via the Insert Media dialog but make sure you check the option Link thumbnails to: Image file.

This will insert the shortcode [gallery link="file"] if you leave other options to their default.

But if you want to show only ONE thumbnail that will open the first image of your gallery in FancyBox and then allow the visitor to browse further with the arrow buttons, you will have to jump through some more hoops. Easiest would be to install NExtGEN Gallery plugin and read Easy FancyBoxes FAQ’s for instructions on how to make the two plugins work together.
