I don't know if this is the right place to ask this question. But I was wondering if it was possible to make a customized thumbnail to each picture - because right now my images a getting cropped in a way that is rather spoiling for the overall aesthetics of the images - see for example this page where the top of the chefs heads are cut off - http://lplusv.dk/wp-admin/customize.php?url=http%3A%2F%2Flplusv.dk%2F%3Fpage_id%3D9. In those cases it would be really nice if I was able to make my own customized cropped thumbnail in the same dimensions and when I pressed it the picture of the chefs will pop up in Easy Fancybox. Does it make sense?

    Hi LeneMaria,

Thumbnails are normally created by WordPress, or in certain cases by some custom script in the theme... Never by the plugin Easy FancyBox.

If you want to modify the automatically created thumbnails, you have several tools in the WP admin available:

    1. Go to Settings > Media and change the default thumbnail dimensions. By default this is 150x150 pixels but you can change that to any other size.

    2. Go to the Media > Library and click the link Edit under an image, then choose the button "Edit Image". Now under "Apply changes to:" select Thumbnail (this is important otherwise the changes will apply to all sizes!) and then select the region on the image by click-dragging your mouse. Consider the dimensions you have defined in step 1, you'll see the size of your selection in pixels on the right. Then hit the Crop button top left of the image. Then Save...

    3. If you want to make a WordPress gallery display other sizes that the default thumbnail, you can modify the shortcode that is visible when editing a post/page in the HTML tab. The gallery shotcode will look like

    [gallery link="file"]

    Change it to

    [gallery link="file" size="small"]

(or medium or large) And save the post/page...

    Hope that helps :)
