Hello again. Just a little question this time: how would I add credit card fields to my checkout form? And/or how do I get them to be displayed?

Also, would their be a way to add custom fields to the checkout? I’m looking to add website name and website URL if possible.

As of right now, I only see email, first name and last name.

    Thanks!

How do you plan to process the credit cards?

The easiest thing to do is to purchase one of the add-on payment gateways that support credit cards: http://easydigitaldownloads.com/extensions/

There are several of the gateways that include credit card support:

    • PayPal Pro
    • Stripe
    • Recurly
    • Authorize.net

If you want to add the fields manually, then checkout the developer’s API section that describes the hooks available on the checkout page: http://easydigitaldownloads.com/docs/section/checkout-page/

You will have to be at least a little bit comfortable with PHP to add the fields, but it’s really quite simple.

I also have a tutorial on adding custom checkout fields: http://easydigitaldownloads.com/docs/custom-checkout-fields/

I hadn’t thought about processing the cards – I’ve never worked with anything like this.

Thanks for pointing me to the API section and tutorial!

If you want to accept cards on the site, you will have to process them somehow. It is against PCI Compliance to accept CC data without being properly secured.
