    Hello,

I am experiencing an issue with the GDPR Cookie Compliance plugin. I updated it on February 8, 2024, from version 4.15.7 to 4.15.10. However, today, March 19, 2025, I noticed that the plugin version has reverted back to 4.15.7 on my site.

In the meantime, I have been regularly checking my plugins, and there has never been any notification or update prompt for a newer version of the plugin. This issue is occurring on 4 different websites. All of them are hosted on SiteGround, but one of them is on a different hosting plan (GrowBig), while the others are on GoGeek.

Has anyone else encountered this issue? Could this be related to SiteGround’s server configurations or automatic processes? I would appreciate any guidance or suggestions on how to resolve this.

    Thank you!

I have gathered more details about this issue, which might help identify the cause.

I checked via FTP, and in all 4 affected websites (3 on SiteGround GoGeek and 1 on SiteGround GrowBig), the files inside /wp-content/plugins/gdpr-cookie-compliance/ were last modified on March 14, 2025, around 9:10 AM.

This suggests that the plugin files were overwritten or replaced at that exact time, which coincides across different hosting plans.

There were no updates or restoration processes initiated manually from my side. I also checked SiteGround’s activity logs, and there is no sign of automatic rollback by the hosting provider.

The only common factor is the plugin itself.

Could this be an automated rollback mechanism within the GDPR Cookie Compliance plugin?

Does the plugin have a built-in function that reverts to a previous version under certain conditions (e.g., failed update, version conflict, or license validation issue)?

    Hi @pautgn

This seems to be possibly an issue with your hosting as our plugin does not have such ability to roll itself back.

We’ve just releases a new version, v4.16.1 > you can use that test. If somehow the plugin reverts back, we recommend that you reach out to your hosting support to investigate this further.

    Hope this helps.
