Here’s the issues we had.
Support were unable to assist:

1. Packing based on total order weight – does not work but we can achieve the same result with “Pack items into boxes” and Group shipping: “off” + a dummy box to hold the whole order (external dims/weight 1x1x1/0, internal dims/weight 9999x9999x9999/9999) – only then do we receive our account rates.
2. Estimated delivery date is returned from the API but does not show to the customer – this will increase customer enquiries and lead to some abandoned carts due to confusion or indecision – this can be overcome by ticking “only show cheapest rate” but is not ideal and we would prefer a fix.
3. Mismatch between Suburb, State, Postcode does not display an error message – no shipping options are shown, and the customer can’t proceed with their purchase – (this is a significant deal-breaker as it will exponentially increase abandoned carts and customer enquiries – resulting in more work for us) – the Startrack API does return an error (as this is displayed in a plugin we use on a different platform), but Elex chooses to ignore it.
An even better solution than returning an error, would be to just return the max rate for that Suburb or Postcode, and allow the customer to proceed (as when customers enter the wrong postcode it’s usually a neighbouring one so rates should be similar anyway).
