plugin doesn't show up on website

I’ve been testing Alfie in my own local wordpress installation and it works fine (it’s a mirror of my site so I know it’s not the theme) as soon as I try to use alfie on my website the plugin won’t work, not on the sidebar and not with the shortcodes on a page, it only shows the title. I have activated and deactivated every plugin and it makes no difference, could it be the jquery version? if it is I don’t know how to fix that, and I even tried the jquery updater plugin but it did nothing.
