I have uploaded a plugin and successfully activated it, but on the next page there is a message coming up – Plugin does not have a valid header. I have tried downloading it from it’s original source and uploaded several times, but the same message is coming up.

    Please help. Thanks

PS I do not want to upgrade to the newest version of WordPress in case I lose my site and contents.

Could you please answer with step-by-step instructions! Thanks.

  • If the plugin is old, then it’s probably crappy, so it’s hard to say without knowing which plugin you are talking about.

With regards to upgrading your WordPress version, you should be running the latest version which has many security patches.
