Plugin does not appear to work
-
I’ve installed the plugin and set the mode to ‘Reader’.
I’ve turned on the plugin for my ‘Posts’.
I’m using a custom theme.
All my posts now have a URL that ends in ‘/amp/’. This page is served but is identical to each page without ‘/amp/’.
When I edit a post my ‘Visualise changes’ button in the top right has an attached AMP button. When I click it, I get to see a very slimmed down version of the post on a black background.
When I use the WordPress customiser, select AMP visualisation in the left menu, and navigate to a post, I get to see the regular version of my post. If I then move out of that left-hand menu and move back to AMP visualisation, I see the AMP version of the same page. If I then continue navigating, posts are shown in their stripped down version.
When I visit a post on my phone, I see the regular version of the post.
This makes me think that the plugin does not work.I couldn’t find this explicitly mentioned, but I’m assuming that the /amp/ version of the post should always show the stripped down version of the page.
How do I make this happen? Also, how do I override the built-in templates?
