    I have a shortcode that looks like this:

    $query .= "post_type=teammembers&member_type=$member_type&posts_per_page=-1&order=ASC&orderby=title";
    $total = $wp_query->post_count;
    $per_column = ceil($total / $size);
    for ($col_num = 1; $col_num <= $size; $col_num++){
    	?><ul style="width: <? echo (98/$size) ?>%; float: left; margin: 0 0 1em 0; padding-left: 5px;"><?php
    	for( $item_number = 1; ($item_number <= $per_column) && $wp_query->have_posts(); $item_number++){
    		$post_id = get_the_id();
    		$nameparts = explode(",", get_the_title());
    		<li id="loop-post-<?php the_ID(); ?>" <?php post_class(); ?>>
    			<?php echo trim($nameparts[1]), " ", trim($nameparts[0]); ?>

    The Disqus code is inserted in the rendered HTML after the last </li>, before the </ul>.
    This means the page does not validate.

    How do I make it not show up there?

    Having the same issue. It's actually showing up in a slider loop as a result.

    Try enabling the Comment Counts checkbox under Advanced Options in the Disqus plugin. That outputs the Disqus JavaScript in the footer and may fix this.

    Let us know what you find.
