    That’s the default behavior of the plugin. If you just type [display-posts], it will list just the post titles of the 10 most recent posts.

    You can add whatever additional parameters you’d like to modify the listing and output. You only get the excerpts if you have include_excerpt=”true”.

    i find this to be untrue. when i only post that the entire posts show up for all the posts. I am only seeking the title

    Are you sure you haven’t added any code to your theme that changes the default behavior of this plugin?

    Here’s a screenshot of a blank WordPress installation, running the default theme (TwentyEleven), running Display Posts Shortcode, and using just [display-posts] as the shortcode: http://twitpic.com/a7z21e

    As you see, the default behavior is an unordered list with just the post title. If you have something different, that means either you, your theme, or a plugin you have is changing the default behavior of the Display Posts Shortcode plugin
